On June 9, 2025, Filipino billionaire Enrique Razon Jr.’s Bloomberry Resorts Corp. officially launched MegaFUNalo, its first-ever online gaming platform in the Philippines.
Bloomberry is known for its land-based venues like Solaire Resort and Casino. In Q1 2025, this land casino helped drive ₱16.8 billion in revenue, up 14% year-over-year. But Razon and his team understand the real action is happening online and are taking a big swing into digital gambling.
However, this move puts them squarely up against DigiPlus Interactive’s BingoPlus, the current e-gambling leader in the country. Here is what we know so far about the new development.
What MegaFUNalo Brings to the Table
MegaFUNalo is Bloomberry’s fully licensed online gaming platform, backed by PAGCOR approval, aimed squarely at BingoPlus’ market. According to Bloomberg, it features a broad portfolio, boasting nearly every title you will find at standard casino sites in the Philippines. Among these are live dealers, video slots, roulette, blackjack, and lottery-style games.
The platform rolls out via both mobile and web apps, targeting the estimated 70% of Filipino online gamblers who prefer mobile access. Bloomberry confirmed its launch is set for Q3 2025, with aspirations to generate 5–7% of Solaire’s gross gaming revenue (approximately ₱2.66 billion to ₱3.72 billion).
Unicapital Securities Inc. Analyst Jeri R. Alfonso mentioned, “We believe the full impact of the online gaming app won’t be realized until 2026, given that operations are set to roll out in the third quarter.”
MegaFUNalo’s launch package also includes free-credit bonuses, boosted daily promotions, and a Viva Movies cross-promotion, tying gaming credits with movie incentives.
Meanwhile, for those who want to play casino games at online platforms in the Philippines, options abound. Both old and new operators are demanding your attention and you can pick from any of them. Competitive Landscape and Risks
MegaFUNalo is jumping into a crowded pool already dominated by a giant: DigiPlus (formerly Leisure & Resorts World). DigiPlus is quite huge, with 40 million registered users in 2024, surpassing 20 million in 2023. According to Toby Allan Arce, an analyst at Globalinks Securities & Stocks Inc. in Manila, “Competing with DigiPlus, an established player with 40 million registered users, presents notable challenges for Bloomberry.”
DigiPlus also leads in monthly active users, reaching around 7.5 million in Q1 2025, each spending about ₱1,000 a month. And they’re not stopping in the Philippines; they’ve also launched sports betting in Brazil.
That means MegaFUNalo must spend big. Bloomberry is reportedly dropping ₱1–2 billion (~$18–36 million) per quarter on marketing and promotions just to catch up. Operating costs have surged, and since the app is built through a revenue‑sharing deal with a third party, Bloomberry’s long-term profits could take a hit.
On top of this, the market is becoming saturated. Morgan Stanley analysts pointed out that just 3 to 4 of 57 licensed online operators have reached real scale, and it’s not just DigiPlus. Alliance Global’s Travellers International, Hann Holdings, and others are also racing into online gaming, increasing the competition.
Looking Ahead
When MegaFUNalo soft-launched, Bloomberry’s stock zoomed. The share price jumped 18%, its biggest daily gain in over six weeks. It hit around ₱6.18, making it the most actively traded stock. But analysts warn the online rollout won’t turn profits until at least 2026, with heavy marketing and tech costs dragging earnings.
So what’s next? Q3 2025 user numbers and revenue from MegaFUNalo will be key. Bloomberry wants about 5% of the online gaming gross revenue, which could bring in around ₱2.5–₱3.7 billion. Analysts say if they hit that, we’ll see real momentum. But if costs keep racing ahead of revenue, profit might stay out of reach.
